Very challenging course. Some holes were very challenging. Pace was slow and made the day long and hot. I would try it again to if it is better.

This is my favorite golf course as you get a front nine that is totally different from the back 9, making like almost 2 different courses. I like to mix it up and play from the different tee boxes. Also a good walking course. Excellent staff in pro shop and course marshals are always friendly and helpful. My biggest complaint is pace of play.

A fun but challenging layout; it is a walkable course with only a couple of hills that are a little difficult. For non residents, price is a little high, but it is a good value.

one of, if not, the best public course's in the bay area; every hole is a very tough test for me, but I keep coming back; the greens on 11 and 14 need to be re-done to take some of the unintended extreme difficulty out of them, in my opinion, but not everyone agrees with that sentiment and it won't stop me from giving this course a very high rating...

Nice course, good value. Back nine is almost unnavigable without prior experience. Local knowledge a must for really tricky greens.

Played an NCGA match there and enjoyed the course

The only thing lacking was green speeds. If they increased the speed of the greens this course could be the best in the area including local Country clubs.

I've played here twice now and really enjoyed both rounds. The course is in great shape and the staff is friendly and helpful. I'll go back again... soon.

Course in Great shape. Best price in the Bay Area. Little slow on the back nine holes

Great course. The greens were in good shape when we played there. There is a ton of protected areas, so bring a ball retriever, it will save you!!! They should force the use of carts on the weekend.

I will never play this golf course again. They had a fog advisory when we played and delayed tee times by an hour and half. There was no apology from the staff and no sort of compensation or gratitude was shown or given for the delay. A really rude and condescending staff. I got attitude from the staff. This is a muni not a country club so leave the snootiness at home for god's sake. The pace of play is abomidable and there are no marshals to speed play along with the folks who stand over the ball and pray. Grip it and rip it folks we are not on Tour and not playing for money. Geez. This facility has potential but is run by morons. Unbelievable and the price they ask for a six hour round is ridiculous.

This is a nice layout and in good condition except for the greens and bunkers. The greens are quite slow and bumpy. Much of the bumpiness is due to unrepaired pitch marks. This seems to be a problem with many muni courses. Players do not demonstrate the pride of ownership you see on private courses. Some bunkers had not been raked recently. I played on Saturday. If you were only going to rake them once a week it should be to prepare for weekend play but that had not been done. Pace of play was very slow. Our foursome waited on almost every tee. There was no effort by the staff to speed up the slower players. The pace might improve if there were no walkers. This course is quite hilly and I am sure hard for some to walk. Requiring carts on the weekend when the course is booked full would probably improve the pace.

Finishing holes are really tough!

I have TRIED to play this course now for the FOURTH TIME AND HAVE YET TO FINISH A ROUND!!!! Pace of play is unbeleivable and the marshals do not enforce it. The City of Pleasanton should find another vendor to operate the course operations. Each time I have tried to play this course I have had to leave due to the pace of play being greater than 6 hours!!!!

pace of play the last few times i played is VERY SLOW. should spread out tee times or have marshals enforce the time rules.

Much better than average public course in most/all aspects

The green are in really bad shape. I play this course a least once a month, and the greens have always been an issue. They are bumpy, hairy and hard as a rock. Some greens are extremely challenging and that is okay, but it does not make up for the fact that the greens have issues

Greens were quite bumpy and unmowed, therefore, greens played much slower than on practice green. Fun track

One of the better muni courses in the bay area. It's not Harding Park, but much better than Santa Clara or SJ Muni

Walk this course only if you're ready for a workout. The thought of a cold beer at the clubhouse kept me going on the walk from the 18th green back to the clubhouse! The numerous "environmental" areas are played as lateral hazards that you may not enter, so errant shots cost both penalty strokes and golf balls.

I agree with others that the 18th is a little strange. Great pricing during the week, especially twilight. The greens are generally challenging, with a few of them verging on unfair. Otherwise an enjoyable golf course.
I played the $15 super twilight rate for Pleasanton residents, no cart. Currently starts at 3PM and somewhat later during the summer. Can still get 18 in at this time of year, and usually during the summer as well.
It is $52 on weekends for Pleasanton residents, sans cart, although you can play the back nine before 8AM during the week for $20 and on the weekends for $26.

Course is in excellent condition, greens recovering really well from areation two weeks ago, two different style of layouts (valley & canyon), challenging par 5s, it's better to be accurate than long and if you can't putt, stay at home.

Good value. Challenging back 9. Straight-forward front 9.

What struck me was how expensive golf has gotten. This is a nice layout and very playable. It has c ramped feel to it because I think they tried to squeeze in more holes than the acreage would otherwise allow. It would have been an "airier' 15 holes course instead of a slightly congested 18 holer. Holes were designed well for both difficulty and challenge. I'd play it again but only if the price was a little less. I will not at the current green fees.

The course is great, pace is slow because many people hit into many hazards. Also, the course has 4 driveable par 4's and these 24 handicaps wait for the green to clear only to put it in the hazard!!

Course has two distintly different nines - while front nine is relatively flat, with doglegs and sand traps, the back nine has elevation changes and carries. 17 & 18 are great finishing holes - the greens can be fast and tough to hold with irons. My favorite course in the East Bay and is a great bargain.

Great deal for Pleasanton residents, but call EARLY to get a tee time, as they normally book up 10-14 days in advance. Fun, challenging course, but #18 is a little strange. A couple of great par 3s.

Great course except for hole #18. It is much too difficult for the average golfer.

I played a week after the greens were plugged and sanded. Got a free cart due to green conditions. Was told the greens were excellent when groomed. #18 is kind of a screwy design but the course is excellent overall. I'm a 19 hdcp, played the blues and it was a fair test.

Great course with lots of room. One con is that it is a wildlife refuge and any balls off course pretty much have to stay there unless you can reach them from the legal area...
